What is your motivation for joining this group?
Finding kindred spirits who wish to help create a demonstration sustainable living site on my 12 acres of woodlands in southcentral Virginia. I wish to offer my home as a place to replenish and learn...our plan is that the grounds will have a natural design point of view, including organic produce, young at heart play areas, meditation spaces featuring native Virginia plants.
What skills or experience would you share? We need architects, artists, planners, scholars, farmers, web wizards, fundraisers, vintners, vegan chefs, grant writers, carpenters, beekeepers, scientists, dreamers, lobbyists - you get the idea ...
On the land I have started a small organic garden and will soon have bees. My meditation ministry offers spiritual reflection on inner wisdom and the wisdom of nature for youth, young adults, elders.

Experience includes Siddha yoga student, spiritual leadership in interfaith settings, disaster response radio , disaster relief and environmental restoration (Katrina), environmental arts camp designer/director for youth, herbalist, social weaver...

We meet WEEKLY due to the enormity of the challenges and the urgency needed to address the issues that face us - Tuesdays 7 pm at Emergence Community Arts Collective, 733 Euclid Street NW, WDC 20001. We've been following a schedule something like this:
1st week - Food & Farming
2nd week - Transition
3rd week - Film
4th week - Community Building Community: Planning & Networking
5th week when there's one - Special guest
